(Update, May 16) – Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley has been released from the Wilmot Cancer Institute following treatment for cancer that began last month, and is “doing very well,” according to a county spokesperson.
Doorley announced she would begin treatment in April.
(From April) – Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley has begun treatment for a cancer diagnosis at the Wilmot Cancer Institute, according to a press release.
“She is continuing to fulfill all her duties and responsibilities as district attorney, and will do so throughout the course of her treatment,” the press release stated. “The district attorney will be supported as always by her senior staff along with her fabulous team of assistant district attorneys and support staff. District Attorney Doorley wishes to thank the community for their thoughts and prayers.”
Doorley, 52, was elected as the county’s first female district attorney in 2011. She originally joined the office in 1992, and was re-elected to the office in 2015, after switching political parties prior to the election.
