According to court documents, Waters allegedly admitted to using the 911 computer system to share information with the girlfriend of a man police were attempting to arrest.
She has been suspended without pay, pending the outcome of a criminal investigation into the matter.
The center will also launch an internal investigation to determine whether any policies regarding employee conduct were violated.
Waters had been with the department since 2011.
“All employees of the city of Rochester are guardians of the public trust, and are expected to maintain that trust at all times,”Mayor Lovely Warren said in a statement. “When we have reason to believe an employee is abusing that trust, we will act swiftly to hold them accountable.”
