According to officials, the airline will offer one-way fares as low as $83.
“Allegiant is very excited to announce these new flights to Fort Lauderdale, making the vacation destination even more accessible for these four communities,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant’s senior vice president of planning. “We are confident that the addition of our low-cost, convenient service to such a popular South Florida destination will bring even more visitors, and economic growth, to the area.”
The Nevada-based company will operate the flights year-round, and fly twice a week from the Greater Rochester International Airport to the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Flight days, times, and fares can be found at Allegiant.com.
“Monroe County is excited to welcome Allegiant to the Greater Rochester International Airport,” said Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, in a statement. “We’ve implemented a targeted strategy to increase affordable air service, especially to destinations not currently served. Allegiant’s new nonstop air service to Fort Lauderdale will provide better access to destinations in Florida, and give local travelers one more reason to choose ROC.”
Allegiant also announced new, non-stop flights to Florida from Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Akron-Canton, Ohio; and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
