Anthony L. Jordan Health Center employees have ratified a new union contract, which will extend through December 31, 2017, according to 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East.
The new contract will be retroactive to Jan. 1, and include wage increases totaling seven percent over the term; with a two percent increase from January, 2015 to January, 2017; and a one percent increase in July, 2017.
In addition, union officials said the contract will increase the shift differential from $1 to $1.50 per hour, and create a longevity pay step at 30 years of service.
The center will also continue to pay the full premium for both single and family health insurance coverage, in a plan similar to the one University of Rochester has given to its union employees.
Seventy-five employees, including licensed practical nurses, case managers, dental hygienists, nursing and dental assistants will be covered by the contract.
Employees, along with a federal mediator, reached a tentative agreement with management earlier this month, after their previous collective bargaining agreement expired December 31, 2014.
1199 SEIU members work at the University of Rochester Medical Center, six area nursing homes, and several other health care facilities in Western New York.
