The city’s third annual “ROC The Park” music festival will feature family-friendly local and regional talent at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, 353 Chestnut St., for three days, on Saturday, July 23; Saturday, Aug. 6; and Saturday, Sept. 3.

This year, the festival will begin with “Latino Family Night,” and feature salsa, merengue and Latin jazz, coupled with local Latino cuisine.

The Luis Carrion Trio and Sammy Pressure, and headliners Next Level and Afrikando, will perform at the event.

“‘ROC The Park’ is becoming a downtown event that families look forward to in the summer, and we’re happy to bring the music festival back again this year, with a few new additions,” Mayor Lovely Warren stated. “The Latino Family Night is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, along with two other music-filled days featuring tributes to R&B, Motown, and soul. I invite the community to come out, and experience the music, dance, and have a good time.”

The Aug. 6 concert will feature a“ROC Rhythm & Groove R&B Tribute,” with performances by Becca Nyerges, Brian Christopher, and 2015 Roc Award-winning artist Joy Little. In addition, a newly-formed “Prince Tribute Band” will also perform during the event.

On Sept. 3, the series will present a“Motown & Soul Tribute” during Labor Day weekend, and Rochester’s Shine and the Roc City Soul All Stars, along with The Carlton Wilcox Live Band, will headline the event.

The gates will open at 5 p.m. for all events, and the music will begin at 6 p.m.

General admission tickets will be $6, and VIP tickets, including admission and dinner, will be available at the gate for $20. Kids 12 and under will be free.

Guests may bring chairs and one sealed bottle of water per person; however, smoking will not be permitted in the park.
