2016-Arts-Festival-Poster-580x387 (1)The Corn Hill Neighbors Association has recently unveiled the 48th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival’s 2016 commemorative poster.

“The poster unveiling is a long standing tradition,” Joanie Fraver, chairperson of the 2016 Corn Hill Arts Festival, stated. “It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate, and thank those who support the Corn Hill Neighbors Association, and make the festival possible.”

Rachel Cordaro, a local full-time painter and textile artist, was selected to create the artwork for this year’s poster.

The painting features her signature flower motifs, framing a quaint Adams St. house.

“A historic home in Corn Hill with whimsical, cheery characteristics was the inspiration behind this painting,” Cordaro stated. “I combined untamed vines, lively colorful poppies, and black-eyed susans to surround, and enchant the house.”

Cordaro’s husband, Cordell Cordaro, was the 2010 Corn Hill Arts Festival Poster Artist.

In celebration of the festival’s rich history, ESL, the presenting sponsor of the festival, and the Corn Hill Neighbors Association will be showcasing a retrospective of commemorative posters dating back to the first poster, created in 1969, at each of ESL’s 20 branches throughout Monroe County.

The Corn Hill Festival takes place July 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.

The free festival will feature over 30 original artists, and 26 live music acts, along with international food vendors, and food trucks.
