County Announces Free Movie Nights at Ontario Beach and Highland Park Bowl

Movies In the Parks 2016Monroe County has announced the schedule for its “Movies in the Parks and Music, Too!” 2016 Summer Season.

This year, the Monroe County Department of Parks will host two free events featuring live music and movies, at Ontario Beach Park, and the Highland Park Bowl.

“Movie & Music Night at the Beach” will take place at the beach on Tuesday, July 26, and the evening kicks off at 7 p.m., with a pre-movie concert  by Rock-It Science,” followed by the film “Jaws” at 9 p.m.

“Movies & Music Night at the Bowl” will take place Tuesday, Aug. 2. The evening kicks off at 7 p.m., with a pre-movie concert by JAVA, followed by the film, “Star Wars:  Episode VII The Force Awakens” at 9 p.m.

Concessions will be available for purchase at both events.

“I am so glad we can continue our outdoor music and movie nights that offer entertaining concerts, and big-screen motion pictures, right here in our county parks,” Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo stated. “The 2016 season showcases the ultimate summertime hit, the 1975 classic “Jaws,” as well as the latest installment in the most successful motion picture franchise of all time, “Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.” Best of all, both movies are open to the public, and will be shown free of charge.”

“Our Monroe County parks continue to be the go-to place for family-friendly fun, all year round,” County Parks Director Larry Staub added.   
