Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks has announced Ellison Park will host “Rolling Thunder The Food Truck Wonder” Saturday, Aug. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. According to Brooks, the event will consist of food trucks, music and and family-friendly activities at the county park.
“Rolling Thunder is an exciting, first time, event for our county park system that will offer food, fun and entertainment for our community to enjoy,” said Brooks. “Food truck rodeos are incredibly popular across the nation, and Monroe County is happy to host a local twist at Ellison Park. This event adds to the already long list of great activities being held within our county parks system, and is an opportunity for residents to sample some delicious food, and listen to local music while enjoying the beauty of one of our Monroe County Parks.”
The event will feature at least 19 well-known food trucks from around the area, as well as include activities like bounce houses, an art area, and story time. In addition, it will feature regional and local bands as entertainment throughout the day.
Beverages, including beer, wine, and other non-alcoholic refreshments will be available for purchase.
There is a $3.00 cover charge per person, and children under 12 are free. Free parking will be available on-site.
“Rolling Thunder is a food truck rodeo on steroids,” said Joe Alessi, producer of the event. “This culinary collision is bringing the best of what the community desires to beautiful Ellison Park. We hope you will come, and bring the whole family for a great day of outdoor fun. We are excited to partner with County Executive Maggie Brooks, and the parks department, to make this exciting event part of the summer fun in Monroe County.”
