In the Community: Flower City Arts Center
It is with both sadness and gratitude that we announce Dr. Cheryl McKeiver’s departure as Executive Director of the Flower City Arts Center. She will leave the Center to pursue new ventures and spend time with her family.
Dr. McKeiver joined the Flower City Arts Center at the beginning of 2021 and led the Center through Covid-19 and its ramifications. As Executive Director, Dr. McKeiver worked with the Center’s board and senior leadership aimed at stabilizing and growing the Center’s financial position. She has helped usher in a new Strategic Plan with the board and staff, and helped improve and stabilize operations and organizational processes. Dr. McKeiver’s initiative to solidify the Flower City Arts Center’s investment in diversity, equity and inclusion continues to be a hallmark program designed to benefit the entire community. Under her leadership, the Center’s development, research and partnerships have created a gateway ripe for expansion.
Dr. McKeiver leaves Flower City Arts Center in a strong position for continued growth, and we sincerely thank her for her contribution and leadership over the past 2 years. The Board wishes her the best of luck and opportunities in her future endeavors.
Dr. McKeiver has graciously agreed to remain at the Center until her replacement is named. Over the next few months, we will be conducting a search to find the new Executive Director for the Flower City Arts Center. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization. We are confident that Dr. McKeiver and the staff will make this a smooth transition for our members, artists, partners and supporters.
We will share the job announcement soon. If you have any questions during this transition process, do not hesitate to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org.
