PLTI will hold a free parent information session Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the Gleason Auditorium of the Rochester Central Library, at 115 South Ave.
Dinner and childcare will be provided.
Officials said parents who participate in the program will learn to define community problems; learn public speaking skills; become familiar with local, state and federal laws, and budgets; and create their own community projects based on their interests and concerns.
The program will include a one-day, Saturday retreat, and 20 weeks of Monday evening classes, from November 2016 to May 2017, at no cost to parents. PLTI will also provide participants with dinner, childcare, and transportation as needed.
