Hair extensions are known for allowing you to get long, flowing locks in a tiny fraction of the time it would take to grow out your own hair. In recent years, celebrity culture and new technologies have helped hair extensions become even more popular.
Yet many people don’t like the hassle it takes to set up a consultation meeting and appointment, or to sit in a hairdresser’s chair for hours at a time. To give these people a more convenient way to lengthen their locks, the hair extension bar has begun to gain in popularity throughout New York State and the Rochester area.
According to WABC-TV New York, these hair extension bars are essentially salons that offer hair extension services on-demand, with no reservations or appointments necessary. Best of all? These salons can give clients a whole new hair look in just 90 minutes.
For those who prefer to show off their personal style with a fresh new wardrobe, BENRUS, a new boutique selling military-inspired clothing for both men and women, will offer a unique way to stay on-trend.
The 1,400-square-foot retail shop, which opened February 19, is located at the Culver Road Armory — an appropriate location, considering the building’s military past, the Democrat and Chronicle reports. The Armory was constructed in 1916 by the Army National Guard; after standing vacant for some time, the structure was renovated as a mixed-use building and re-opened in 2012.
BENRUS will join several other retailers, as well as restaurants and commercial offices. The store will sell several lines of military-inspired apparel that appeals to a variety of different demographics, as well as items like sunglasses and leather bomber jackets.
Rochester is one of four launch markets for BENRUS, which has traditionally been known for its vintage, military-issue timepieces, but recently expanded into a full-fledged lifestyle brand. Giovanni Feroce, BENRUS’s founder, is former CEO of Alex and Ani jewelry, another retail chain that has a store within the Armory.
Whether you’re in the market for a longer, fuller hairstyle or a few timeless wardrobe pieces inspired by U.S. military history, there is certainly no shortage of ways to reinvent your style in Rochester.
