The summit will be a gathering of city and business leaders from across the country to discuss the urban renaissance underway in American cities, according to the conference’s website.
“America’s original cities are building its future,” the website stated. “That’s why City Age will hold the next edition of the Summit on The New American City in Rochester, New York on June 7th, 2016. An evening reception will be held prior the Summit on June 6th. An urban renaissance is underway in mid-sized cities across the U.S., driven by new partnerships among business, university and city leaders.”
Mayor Lovely Warren will host the summit, which the city said will build on prior conferences in Kansas City, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Seattle.
“The CityAge conference is a great opportunity to showcase our city, and everything we have been able to accomplish, both downtown, and in our neighborhoods,” Mayor Warren stated. “From filling in the Inner Loop, to repurposing old buildings, to cleaning up our brownfield sites, we are revitalizing and repurposing every corner of our city, and creating more jobs, safer and more vibrant neighborhoods, and better educational opportunities. I am grateful the conference organizers accepted my invitation, and I look forward to welcoming our very special guests in June.”
