The special admission offer will provide residents up to five free youth admissions, with one paid adult, throughout the month of February.
Each paid admission will also receive a voucher for one free visit this summer.
“The Seneca Park Zoo is one of our community’s top attractions, and serves as a great experience for kids of all ages,” Monroe Executive Cheryl Dinolfo stated. “We are happy to offer free youth admission in February, and would encourage residents to take full advantage of everything a visit to the zoo has to offer.”
The zoo’s special events in February will include Leap Day, Monday, Feb.29, to connect visitors with frogs, and other amphibians, through interactive activities; and Polar Bear Awareness Day, Saturday, Feb. 20, which will honor the vulnerable species with keeper chats, demonstrations, and more.
“Our education and conservation programming is active all year round, but the winter is a uniquely engaging time to visit, and make unexpected connections with wildlife,”the Zoo Society’s Executive Director, Pamela Reed Sanchez, stated.
This will be the first time an admissions special has been offered at the zoo, which is open year-round, except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Now through March 31, the zoo will be open from 10 a.m. (9:30 a.m. for members) until 4 p.m., and the price of adult admission, ages 12-62, will be $10.
“Many of the zoo’s animals are very active during the colder months here in Rochester,” Larry Sorel, zoo director, stated. “February is a wonderful time to see the natural beauty on grounds, while spending time outdoors. Free Youth February is a way for even more people to enjoy the season here.”
