Swimming will be permitted at the park each day, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., when lifeguards are on duty.
“Here in Monroe County, we welcome the summer weather with the opening of swimming at Ontario Beach Park,” Dinolfo stated. “With a sunny weekend upon us, the sandy shore and waters of Lake Ontario will be a top destination to cool off, and spend time with family. It is important to note that in high temperatures, families must ensure that both children and adults are constantly applying sunscreen, drinking water, and spending time in the shade.”
According to Dinolfo, a recorded telephone message will be updated daily at (585) 753-5887, with information on beach conditions and whether swimming is permitted. Even if swimming is not permitted, the beach at the park will remain open for recreational use.
“Ontario Beach Park is the summertime go-to spot in Monroe County,” the county said.
