Trinity Emmanuel Presbyterian Church will show Carvin Eison’s film “Shadows of the Lynching Tree” Wednesday, 6:30 p.m, at 9 Shelter St.
The short film details the events surrounding the public lynching and torture of 17-year-old Jesse Washington in 1916, Waco, Texas.
Eison has also previously produced the 2004 documentary “July ’64,” which chronicles the 1964 Rochester race riots, and he will also moderate a discussion following the event.
