Applications for the 2023 Mayor’s Mentor UP! Gala event must be received by Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

This dynamic event offers youth from 14 to 18 years old an opportunity to receive guidance and career insights from successful professionals in their chosen fields of interest.

The Gala is set to take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at Downtown Rochester’s Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center, 123 East Main Street.

The Mayor's Mentor UP! Gala is an exceptional free event supported by local chapters of international fraternities, community agencies, residents, area colleges, and business leaders. This red-carpet gathering serves as a pivotal platform for forging connections, where youth ages 14-18 can interact with peers and local leaders in a formal, enjoyable, and relaxed atmosphere. The event strives to facilitate natural mentor-mentee pairings that can lead to internships and job prospects for local high school students.

The theme – “Mentor Up!” – recognizes the potentially powerful positive impact that adults can have on helping shape and expand the lives of young people. Individuals who take the time to share their experiences, journeys, insights, and broaden the horizons of those who are at the beginning of their quest for success can be invaluable resources.

The City of Rochester says it is dedicated to nurturing the growth of young Rochesterians through opportunities like The Mayor's Mentor UP! Gala, and invites local teenagers to embrace the chance to make a difference and grow.
