Causewave Community Partners Seeks: Senior Manager, Grant Capacity Building

ORGANIZATION: Causewave Community Partners

TITLE: Senior Manager, Grant Capacity Building

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing & Fund Development

Here’s what Causewave can offer you:

● Competitive pay and benefits package

● Flexible work environment, including the option for a hybrid work schedule

● Awesome colleagues and a culture where everyone’s ideas matter

● Exciting, meaningful work: You’ll be an integral part of making our community

stronger by helping other organizations be successful. You will know every day

that your work is making a difference!

Here’s what we’re looking for in a Senior Manager of Grant Support:

This role will help achieve the goal of building grants capacity with grassroots, small,

and mid-sized organizations ($5M or less annual budget), with an end goal of more

federal, state and out-of-town foundation grant dollars flowing to Greater Rochester

area nonprofits, individually and in collaboration with other organizations.

The Senior Manager of Grant Support is a community change agent and plays a critical

role on our diverse team, supporting nonprofits and community coalitions with grants

capacity building, with the following items as requirements for success:

● Conduct research on available grant and RFP opportunities with federal and

state sources

● Coordinate collaboration opportunities between nonprofits and other relevant

stakeholders

● Assist with assessing readiness of organizations and collaborations for grant and

RFP opportunities

● Distribute opportunities to appropriate freelance grant writers

● Assist with coordination of grant reporting

● Perform other duties as assigned in support of this initiative and Causewave’s

mission.

Here are some other things to consider when evaluating if this role is right for you:

Grit: There are few people who understand the value of persistence and

resilience better than those who choose the nonprofit sector. You should be

excited about putting your grit to good use.

Organized: We’re an organization with big goals and lots of causes to serve, so

you’ll be talking with multiple organizations per week. We will need you to be

great at planning, prioritization, and managing multiple deadlines at a time.

Connected: You’ll be working with all kinds of people - the ability to form

relationships and build trust quickly will be a big part of your success.

Entrepreneurial: While capacity building is in our DNA, the Grant Capacity

Building Program is only a year old, so you’ll have the chance to use your skills

and drive to make it a successful, sustained program.

Preferred experience

● Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience (paid or volunteer - Internship

experience counts!)

● Well-organized and attentive to detail

● Strong desire to make the world a better place

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, nonprofit

management or business

● Nonprofit experience is important and grants experience is strongly preferred.

embraces diversity and appreciates and values individual differences. We are actively

working to: increase the diversity of our staff, board and vendors; create an inclusive,

respectful and equitable environment; serve our diverse customers with culturally

practices through learning and leadership. We’re eager for new team members to bring

their unique experiences and perspectives to the table to improve our work, inside &

out.

Our vision for the future. Causewave Community Partners’ long-term vision is this:

ours will be a community known for addressing big challenges through collaboration,

and our organization will be one of the primary justifications for that reputation. We’ll be

a magnet for passionate people looking to do good and the place where ideas, causes

and organizations come to build momentum around their mission.

Compensation: The range for this position is $58,000-$61,000 per year. Actual offers

within this range are commensurate with experience.
