Community Resource Expo to Take Place at Central Library Downtown on Thursday


The Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County

The Central Library of Rochester & Monroe County invites the community to explore an array of services and resources provided by local organizations attend at its Community Resource Expo, 12 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Kate Gleason Auditorium, 115 South Ave.

 

The event will bring together numerous community agencies that offer support in areas such as voter registration, veterans’ services, health care, small business development, re-entry advocacy, financial empowerment, and more. Notable organizations include:


·         Monroe County Board of Elections: Voter registration, polling place information, and more.

·         Rochester Department of Veterans Affairs: Housing, health care linkage, job referrals, and support for veterans.

·         CASH/Empire Justice Center: Free tax preparation, financial education and multilingual services.

·         Urban League of Rochester: Services empowering African-American and Latinx community members, as well as disadvantaged communities.

·         Monroe County Department of Public Health: Narcan training and free Narcan kits.

·         Small Business Administration (SBA): Resources for business growth and entrepreneurship.

·         Flaum Eye Institute: Eye care services and resources from UR Medicine.

·         Trillium Health: LGBTQ-affirming health care and primary care services.

 

Additional organizations will offer assistance with re-entry services, youth advocacy, housing and employment resources.
