County and City Holiday Closings Announced for Thanksgiving 2023

The county of Monroe and city of Rochester announced their holiday closings for Thanksgiving, which is set to be observed on Thu., Nov. 23, 2023.


County of Monroe

  • All administrative and public-facing offices will be closed from Thu., Nov. 23 – Fri., Nov. 24, 2023.

  • Monroe County / WM ecopark (10 Avion Drive, Rochester, NY 14624) will be closed on Sat., Nov. 25, 2023.


City of Rochester

  • The Rochester Public Market will be open for special hours on Wed., Nov. 22, 2023 from 6:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for last minute Thanksgiving shopping. The Public Market will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thu., Nov. 23, 2023.

  • The Jackson R-Center will hold their annual Skate and Swim party on Wed., Nov. 22, 2023.

  • City Hall Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

  • The 311 Call Center will be closed on Thu., Nov. 24 and re-open on Fri., Nov. 25, 2023 from 7:00 a.m.– 9:00 p.m.

  • Refuse and recycling will be delayed by one day on Thu., Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24, 2023.

  • Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

  • Rochester City Hall, Neighborhood Service Centers, Rochester Public Libraries, Rochester Animal Services, and the Honorable Loretta C. Scott Center for Human Services administrative office building at 57 St. Paul St. will be closed on Thu., Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24, 2023

  • All R-Centers, will be closed Thu., Nov. 23 through Sat., Nov. 25 2023.
