GFD returns home after a successful touring season that began with the COCO Dance Festival at Queen’s Hall in Trinidad & Tobago and concluded with their annual week-long residency at The Joyce Theater in New York City. David Boothman, writer for Trinidad & Tobago’s Newsday, wrote: “The show started, and from the get-go, I was literally hypnotized…This is the art of dance at its best”. The performance was attended by members of both the Japanese and U.S. Embassies in Trinidad & Tobago.

GFD’s New York City season at The Joyce Theater was also covered abroad, with French reviewer Claire Massy-Paoli of ClassyKleo (translated from French) describing the show as a collection of vibrant, high-energy pieces where diverse inspirations and creative expression intersect to form a distinctly unique style. It’s clear that Garth Fagan Dance is taking their signature art form—and Rochester—global.

GFD's "Home Showcase" will feature new and timeless works, including Artistic Director Norwood 'PJ' Pennewell's The Rite of Spring, which offers an intimate exploration of Shamanic rituals, and Executive Director Natalie Rogers-Cropper's Life Receding, which delves into the effects of global warming on the Caribbean. The program also includes revivals of works by company founder Garth Fagan, known for his groundbreaking contributions to contemporary dance.

Tickets available on the GFD website or at the box office one hour before each performance.
