Holiday Cookie Contest Returns to City of Rochester Public Market

Winners Receive Coveted Market Gift Tokens

It’s that time of year when the City of Rochester Public Market invites the public to whip up their best baked good to enter in the Holiday Cookie Contest. Held in conjunction with the annual Holidays at the Market special events, amateur bakers who think they make the best holiday cookies in Rochester can drop off a half dozen of their finest creation, along with a copy of the recipe to the Public Market Office, 280 Union St. N., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 and 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec.15. One recipe per contestant.

Beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, Dec. 15, a panel of local food experts, critics, and enthusiastic cookie fans, will judge and rank the cookie entries on taste, texture, originality, and presentation and will select first, second, and third place winners who will be awarded $150, $75, and $55 in Market Gift Tokens.

Holiday Cookie Contest winners will be featured on the City of Rochester’s website and the Public Market’s social media accounts.
