Jymere Feliciano Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in the 1st Degree for the Homicide of Jaden Scott

Rochester, NY- On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 20-year-old Jymere Feliciano pled guilty to Manslaughter in the 1st Degree for the fatal shooting of Jaden Scott.

On July 26, 2024, Rochester Police Officers responded to Nassau Street for reported gunshots. Upon arrival, they located 17-year-old Jaden Scott in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries two days later.

After a thorough investigation by the Rochester Police Department, Jymere Feliciano was identified as the shooter. He was located in the State of Georgia and was arrested by local authorities. The investigators determined that the two walked past each other on Nassau Street, both armed, when the defendant pulled out his illegally possessed weapon and shot Jaden Scott.

Jymere Feliciano will be sentenced to 20 years in the New York State Department of Corrections plus 5 years of post-release supervision.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam VanHeyst, Deputy Chief of the Major Felony Bureau.

“The shooting death of Jaden Scott was an utterly senseless and violent act,” said Assistant District Attorney Adam VanHeyst. “While I am pleased that Jymere Feliciano admitted to shooting and killing Jaden Scott, this hasty and reckless action resulted in the death of a teenager. The victim’s death was entirely avoidable. I want to thank the Rochester Police Department for their thorough investigation, as well as the other law enforcement agencies that helped to apprehend him.  Jymere Feliciano committed a heartless act, but I hope that this plea brings a sense of closure to Jaden’s family.”

“Jaden Scott was a teenager with an entire life ahead of him,” said Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley. “Jymere Feliciano made the choice to pull an illegal firearm on the victim instead of walking away. As a result, Jaden’s family was robbed of a loved one, and Jymere Feliciano will spend the next two decades incarcerated. We hope that the defendant will use his time in the Department of Corrections to reflect on his violent actions that took a life and ruined a family. It is our hope that the loved ones of Jaden Scott can find justice in this admission of guilt.”

Jymere Feliciano will be sentenced on June 13, 2025, in front of Monroe County Court Judge Randall.
