Major Crimes Homicide Unit Seeking Assistance
The Rochester Police Department has released photographs of an individual who was present during a tragic mass shooting at Maplewood Park. Authorities are actively seeking this person, as they can be seen in the pictures brandishing a handgun. Authorities confirmed that the individual is not currently considered a suspect, but someone the police wish to locate in connection to the incident.
The incident occurred during a community barbecue at Maplewood Park on Sunday evening, causing chaos and panic as hundreds scrambled to find safety. Tragically, two women, Tyasia Manning and Phylicia Council, lost their lives in the shooting. Additionally, five others sustained gunshot wounds, although they are expected to recover.
The Major Crimes Homicide Unit is seeking assistance in identifying the individual captured in the photographs. They believe this person was present at Maplewood Park during the double murder on July 28, 2024, at 6:20 pm, and was armed with a handgun.
