Harriet T. Fisher Appointed as New Chief Technology Officer

Mayor Malik D. Evans announced on May 17, that he has named a new Chief Technology Officer to lead the City’s Department of Information Technology.


Harriet T. Fisher, who has served as the Director of the Project Management Office, has been tapped to fill the role of William Boudreaux who is leaving Rochester to pursue a new opportunity out of state.  

 

Fisher has been a City employee and a member of the IT Department since 1998. She graduated from Rochester City School District and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York College at Brockport. 

 

Fisher’s appointment is effective June 1.


“I am thrilled to welcome Harriet Fisher to the role of Chief Technology Officer,” said Mayor Evans. "She has a proven track record of more than 25 years of experience as both an IT professional and leader within the Department and I look forward to her expertise and leadership of the City’s technology systems.” 

 

The City’s Department of Information Technology directs and manages the development and ongoing operations of all IT services provided to City departments. The Department is comprised of six bureaus under the Chief Technology Officer. 

 

“I want to thank Mayor Evans for the opportunity to step into the position of a lifetime,” said Fisher. “I have learned from the best right here in Rochester, and am thankful for the mentorship of leaders before me. In addition to supporting the important and good work the team is already doing, I look forward to engaging even more young people and encouraging them to explore the IT field.” 


Mayor Evans says he is grateful to Boudreaux for his leadership and years of service. "I wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Evans said.
