Monroe County Opens Satellite Offices for Aging and Veteran Services

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced the launch of two new service centers in Greece and Webster to improve access to services for older adults and veterans. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, these offices are located at Greece Ridge Mall and Bay Towne Plaza.

“These new service centers will help us to better connect with residents by meeting them closer to home,” said Bello. “Our goal is to ensure veterans receive their benefits and older adults and caregivers access the resources they need to enhance their quality of life.”

The Monroe County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) will assist veterans with navigating the Department of Veterans Affairs claims system, appeals, and benefit eligibility. Lifespan of Greater Rochester, in partnership with the Monroe County Office for the Aging, will provide support for older adults and caregivers, including guidance on housing, transportation, health insurance, wellness programs, and financial aid.

“These sites provide convenient access to vital programs for residents across the county,” said Steve Newcomb, Director of the Office for the Aging.

“These additional service centers are a prime example of Monroe County meeting residents where they are,” said Legislature President Yversha Román. “The needs of our veterans and elderly residents are complex. These centers increase accessibility of the services offered to address those needs.”

The offices will operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at:
