New Downtown Rochester Farmers Market Begins 16-week run July 10th on Parcel 5

"Ensuring that everyone has access to healthy food is critical to our community’s well-being because good nutrition can lead to a healthier lifestyle,” said MVP Health Care's Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Deborah Brundage.

The Rochester Downtown Development Corporation (RDDC) and affiliate organization, The Commissary, are thrilled to announce the launch of the Downtown Rochester Farmers Market. This new initiative is designed to serve the downtown Rochester community, beginning July 10, by providing residents and visitors easy access to fresh produce and other locally made food and beverage options.

Located at Parcel 5, 285 E Main St., the market will operate every Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm over a span of 16 weeks. Markets will feature a variety of farmers, vendors, and food trucks, including members of The Commissary.

“MVP Health Care is thrilled to support the Downtown Rochester Farmers Market, addressing food accessibility head-on and nurturing our neighbors’ health and well-being. By continuing to invest in Rochester and provide access to events like the Farmer’s Market, we are furthering our mission to build healthy communities throughout our region,” said Brundage..

Weekly programming will include performances, games, and other engaging activities, so you can come for the food and stay for the fun. The Downtown Rochester Farmers Market is sponsored by MVP Health Care. In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, MVP Health Care will host four cooking

demonstrations during the Farmers Markets on July 17, August 14, September 18 and October 9 between 4 - 6 pm. Attendees will learn about ways to prepare local and seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables and take home a recipe card.

“We are very excited to be working with the Rochester Downtown Farmers Market this summer to bring fresh, locally produced, nutrient dense foods to our customers. We are out with the animals and gardens daily making sure customers are getting only the best Farm-To-Table meat, honey, eggs and produce. Our mission is to raise food for our greatest health and wellbeing, while giving back to the land, animals, and community," Celeste Arlie of Eggs n’ Honey Homestead said.

"At Bottomline Produce, we are thrilled to be part of the Downtown Rochester Farmers Market," said Phil Frassetto, owner of Bottomline Produce. "This market not only allows us to share our fresh produce with the community but also fosters a strong connection with the people we serve. We're committed to providing the highest quality fruits and vegetables, and being a part of this vibrant market helps us achieve that goal."

"We're thrilled to bring The Cookie Haven's handcrafted cookies to the Downtown Rochester Farmers Market. It's a wonderful way to connect with our community and share the joy of life's special moments," said Jessica Wickes, owner and founder of The Cookie Haven.
