RAAFA Hosts Free "Stop the Bleed" Gun Safety Workshop for the Community


The Rochester African American Firearms Association (RAAFA) is offering a free, comprehensive workshop focusing on emergency response, firearm safety, and situational awareness. The event, "Stop the Bleed" is open to the public and aims to equip participants with vital skills that could save lives.


RAAFA's community-focused event and workshop will cover three key areas:


  • Stop the Bleed Training: Participants will learn how to control bleeding in emergencies, including using tourniquets and other life-saving tools.

  • Gun Safety Education: Experts will provide guidance on proper firearm handling, storage, and legal responsibilities.

  • Situational Awareness Training: Attendees will develop skills to recognize, assess, and react to potential threats in their surroundings.


The workshop to be held at RAAFA, 215 Tremont St Door #3, Suite 214, Rochester, NY 14608, will be held on the following dates:


  • Saturday, September 21, 2024: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Sunday, September 22, 2024: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.


All sessions will be held at no cost to attendees. To secure a spot, participants must register online at RAAFA's event page.


RAAFA was founded in 2019 by Paul "Paulie" Adell Jr. and Michael Nix, the Rochester African American Firearms Association was created to provide a platform, seeing the need for black citizens in their community to protect themselves in the Rochester area, they formed a Brother/Sisterhood. The organization has since grown to become the largest of its kind in upstate New York, offering education, resources, and training to the community.


RAAFA, and RAAFA Tactical believes in the importance of arming and educating individuals to protect and defend themselves.
