Remington Street Shooting Arrest:
On November 22, 2024, Officers responded to the area of Joseph Avenue and Avenue D for the report of a person shot. Officers located an 18-year old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
He was transported to Strong Hospital with serious injuries that were ultimately determined to be non-life Threatening.
Detectives from the Non-Fatal Shooting unit investigated the incident and found that the victim met up with the suspect in the area of Remington Street and Boston Street to make a marijuana transaction. The suspect shot the victim on Remington Street and he was able to flee to the area of Joseph and Avenue D. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as a 17-year old male.
On December 4, the 17-year old suspect was released from the Monroe County Children’s Center, where he was being held since November 25, on multiple probation violations relating to his arrest in May for being in a stolen Kia that had fled from Officers in a pursuit and crashed.
Detectives took him into custody and he was transported to be arraigned in Youth Part. He was issued a $1,000 bail and transported to the Monroe County Children’s Center, where he quickly made bail and was released.
The 17-year old male is charged with Assault in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
