ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs at the Maplewood Rose Garden
Fairs will commence this Wednesday, June 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the picturesque Maplewood Rose Garden, located at 250 Maplewood Ave. This year’s series of employment fairs promises to be bigger and better, with nearly 80 employers and agencies, including ACM Global Laboratories, Rochester Regional Health, and Walmart, committed to participating.
An effort started by Rochester City Council President Miguel A. Meléndez Jr, the ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs are designed as neighborhood-based hiring initiatives that bring businesses and recruiters directly to Rochester neighborhoods throughout the summer. These events are styled like local block parties, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere where Rochester employers and residents can connect over employment and resource opportunities.
“As Council President I am focused on creating safer neighborhoods, quality housing and equitable access to opportunities. Connecting people to available resources and employment is crucial for the vitality and growth of our community. The ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs not only provide a platform for job seekers to meet potential employers but also offer valuable resources that can help residents thrive. The vision is to fellowship with food, music, and jobs! I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone has equitable access to opportunity,” said President Meléndez.
The remaining ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:
• July 10 at Franklin High School, 950 Norton St.
• August 14 at Aberdeen Square Park, 373 Aberdeen St.
• September 25 at Parcel 5, 285 E. Main St.
Residents are encouraged to attend these events, bring their resumes, and take advantage of the numerous opportunities available
