The Summit FCU Sponsors Free “Jazz at the Beach” Series Presented by JAZZ90.1 and the Ontario Beach Park Committee
For the second year in a row, The Summit Federal Credit Union will be sponsoring Jazz at the Beach, a FREE series of monthly jazz concerts from May through November presented by Jazz90.1 and the Ontario Beach Park Committee. All performances begin at 7:00 pm and take place on the second Tuesday of each month at Tropix, 4775 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.
“The Summit enjoys a robust relationship with Jazz90.1. We are delighted to again sponsor this popular series of FREE concerts and to work with the station and the Ontario Beach Park Committee,” said Twanda Christensen, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement for The Summit. “These are wonderful events to share with the entire family and, at the same time, shine the light on some of Rochester’s best musicians, and elevate our community.”
Jazz at the Beach will feature a wide variety of local and nationally recognized jazz artists. The Bill Tiberio Band will perform on Tuesday, May 14th. Ann Mitchell Jazz, the Laura Dubin Trio, Paradigm Shift, The Darryl Parker Quartet; Grammy-nominee Jimmie Highsmith Jr; and the Bob Sneider Trio will perform at concerts from June through November.
Admission to these family-friendly concerts is FREE. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
"Jazz90.1 and The Ontario Beach Park Program Committee are excited to continue this free concert series for a third year,” commented Rob Linton, Jazz90.1 Station Manager. “This effort is part of our goal to provide free community jazz, blues, and big band concerts year-round in Rochester. We're honored to have the support from The Summit Federal Credit Union as our title sponsor. We look forward to seeing the community at the beach!"
“We are excited to add Summit Federal Credit Union to our family of sponsors, said James Farr, Chairman of the Ontario Beach Park Committee. “For almost 40 years the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee has relied on support from local businesses to help fund free, family entertainment at the beach and port and joining with The Summit as a title sponsor for this exciting jazz series, featuring local artists, continues that tradition.”
