Today is Primary Election Day
Primary Election Day has arrived, and the Monroe County Board of Elections is informing voters about the election process.
Monroe County Board of Elections announced that voting sites are open today from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. “Please remember that only enrolled members of a party may vote in Primary Elections,” said Commissioner Jackie Ortiz. “This year there are only contested races in the Democratic party.”
The Board also confirmed that voter turnout reports will be published on their website.
According to the Board, these reports will be generated three times throughout the day - 11 am, 3 pm, and 7 pm. They will provide a snapshot of the current turnout by informing the number of voters who have cast their ballots up to that point.
Recognizing that unforeseen circumstances may arise, the Board assures the public that once the reports are available, they will be promptly uploaded to the website. However, it is important to remember that these reports are not the final results, the Board acknowledged. The final election results will be posted after the polls have closed.
The Board requests patience and restraint from contacting them for the periodic reports, as they will uploaded as soon as they are available. The Board stated their dedication to accuracy and timeliness ensures that the public can have confidence in the information provided.
For individuals who desire more detailed data, the Board of Elections Department offers an FTP Request form. By filling out this form and specifying the desired data sets, individuals can request additional information. Once the completed form is sent to the designated email address, the Board will create an account for the individual and provide an activation link. It is important to bookmark or save this link to prevent account lockout, as it can only be used once. If any issues arise with the account, individuals can contact the Board via email.
