Urban League of Rochester to Celebrate 60th Anniversary at Love and Legacy Gala Featuring R&B Star Keke Wyatt

The Urban League of Rochester invites the community to an unforgettable evening of celebration, community, and romance at its 60th Anniversary Love and Legacy Gala on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2025. The black-tie affair will take place at the Joseph A. Floreano Convention Center at 123 Main Street, Rochester, N.Y., with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. The event runs from 6 to 11 p.m.

Award-winning R&B artist Keke Wyatt will headline the evening, performing some of her most beloved hits. The gala will feature dinner, live entertainment, and dancing, all while celebrating the theme: “Celebrating Love, Legacy, and Empowering the Future.” Guests will reflect on six decades of community impact and support the Urban League’s ongoing mission to empower underserved groups.

Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League, will also attend to commemorate this milestone.

“This Valentine’s Day, we toast to love—not just for our families and partners but for our community,” said Dr. Seanelle Hawkins, president and CEO of the Urban League of Rochester. “As we mark 60 years of service, we remain committed to empowering underserved communities to achieve economic self-reliance, parity, and civil rights. Together, we honor our legacy while working toward a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”

The event will begin with a reception and open-bar cocktail hour, offering attendees the opportunity to network with local changemakers in a vibrant atmosphere. A formal dinner will follow, featuring a gourmet three-course meal and a program honoring community champions while reflecting on six decades of impactful work. 

The evening will also include an awards presentation recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to advancing equity and opportunity in Rochester. To conclude the celebration, attendees can enjoy live music and dancing, creating memories to last a lifetime.

“This event isn’t just a Valentine’s celebration—it’s a chance to make a difference,” said Dr. Hawkins.
